[Prompt provided in the challenge]

It was her 5th Diwali, but it was the first time Divya held the fireworks in her hand, and she wanted her Ma and Pa to burst crackers along with her.

But Pa was busy in uploading Divya’s picture on Facebook, titled “Divya’s adventure with crackers” ; while Ma was busy scrolling through Facebook News Feed.

The uploaded picture garnered 300 likes, but failed to reflect the silent tears of the lonely girl, who only yearned for her parent’s attention and not the number of likes.

  1. Awwww! So true — thanks for the reminder!! We spend our New Years Eve’s {nearly!} tech-free — with board games and family time. It’s all too easy for us adults to be so enchanted by our children to miss the opportunities to just *be* — whether it be New Years, Diwali, or the every day. Happy New Year to you!
