Ronovan’s Haiku challenge – Colour and Warmth

I have played with the prompts a little bit this time 😉 !

Perspective

Grey tracksuit, jogger shoes

“He must think i’m tomboy” she thought

“Hot, my type” he thought

Daily prompt : imaginary

The night traveller

An imaginary glimpse, I thought,

but it wasn’t, I was sure,

I did see him, move stealthily so,

With a guarded gait,

But the sight was so ephemeral,

I shouldn’t have ignored it,

Why did I keep the window open?

I mustn’t have,

One mustn’t trust the night winds,

And its obscure shadows,

It brings some visitors, unwanted though,

Note to self : never repeat this blunder,

A look into the kitchen and I knew,

That sly idiot had left some traces,

White drops of his ecstasy were left on the slab,

The stray kitty had arrived again,

And stolen all my milk!

Daily Prompt – June 1, 2017 : Portion

This haiku is for that moment in the last book of Harry Potter series where Snape gives his memories to Harry :

Past

portion of his thoughts
Lily was alive for him
Pensieve knew his secret

Ronovan’s Haiku Challenge – Please and tease

Fright

praying mantis teased me
its sly eyes tasted my fear
“oh, please go away”

A haiku for today’s unwanted visitor

TLT – Week 68

[Prompt provided in the challenge]

The Beginning

“This would probably be the last time I might see him”, she thought on her Graduation day.

She turned to tell Vihaan that she loves him, only to find him down on one knee.

Avantika reminisced while looking at the graduation photograph which hung mournfully on the wall, as it stood testimony to the divorce papers on the table below.

Black

The hour before the dawn is the darkest,

But, how long does it last?

It shouldn’t last so long that the sleepy eyes,

get accustomed to the pitch black,

And when light does seep in,

through the crevices of the eyelids,

It is too late.

Darkness is a cruel witch,

Sniggers, while entwining with catastrophe,

Yet it engulfs with a soothing calm,

Not the silence before the tempest,

But the peace after –

The quiet that stands strong,

After the devastation.

Ronovan writes week 134 – Blow and Please

Felicity – ?!

Blows have hit harshly

Pleasing days thing of the past

Frost awaits sunlight

Discover Challenge – The greatest lie in the world

The greatest lie in the world a guy would say to his girlfriend/wife is :

“You are not looking fat/old” depending on the question thrown towards him.

You may ask me why I categorically say that this is the greatest lie. Well, being a CA student I cannot pose a theory without substantiating it with reasons.

Reason #1 – He doesn’t know how to judge whether a woman is fat/old.
Reason #2 – He is not bothered by any of it. He loves her at all times. So he says this without even judging her.
Reason #3 – She does look fat/old. But. If he answers in the affirmative, we all know about the mayhem that would ensue.

Earlier, I had posted about conundrum. The question “Am I looking fat/old?” would top the list of conundrums, if there was one! What is the correct answer to this question which hits every committed/married guy on the face, readers? Because, even if the guy gives the answer which I have proclaimed to be the greatest lie in the world – SHE WILL NOT BELIEVE HIM ANYWAY!!!

Ronovan Writes Haiku Challenge – Week 132

Hungry Desire

Ok, so I am sure the title has given away what I am going to write about – Hunger. As I write this post, my intestine is screeching with hunger cries and I am pretty sure my readers can guess the intensity from the haiku I am going to write now, using the prompts provided by Ronovan – flame and kiss.

Hunger is fine. But extreme hunger leads to an atrocious rage of acidity and anger which will thoroughly vandalise and  demolish your insides. Enough said about hunger now, so here’s the haiku…….[Enjoy reading it while I go grab something to eat!]

flames thrive off desire
kissing intestines en route
hunger’s flaming fangs
